Changing your course starts with making a decision
Step one to creating a life you love is to decide you want to make a change, whether large or small. Nothing else matters if you’re not willing to decide. And this decision sets the course for creating the kind of life you can truly love.
But if you don’t know which parts of your life need work, you’ll have no idea how to move forward. It’s common sense, really. How can you fix something if you don’t know what’s broken? If we hadn’t identified which elements of our life needed attention, we never could have opened a cookware store, started a specialty food business, or moved to the
- Am I ready to put the past behind me and look forward to what lies ahead?
- Have I assessed how much passion there is in my day-to-day life?
- Would I like to spend more time doing something else?
- Do I know which people in my life bring me happiness and which cause anxiety?
- Do I know what parts of my environment I want to change?
- Am I committed to making a meaningful change and ready to move on?
We’d love to hear your thoughts about these questions, and see how you can start changing your course!

Even though I’m apparently the only one commenting so far, I’ll keep doing so.
I agree – once I decided that what I really wanted to do was different than what I was doing, the hard part was over. Now I can focus on following my passion, and even though they’ll be bumps in the road, I’ve got that dream to keep me on track.
Thanks Peter! Our website is very new and we’re still doing some fine tuning. We haven’t done much to tell people about it yet only because it’s not finished, and hopefully, that will only be another two weeks or so. Thanks so much for your loyalty and enthusiasm. You are clearly on the right track and we look forward to hearing about your progress.
I am so happy to find your site. I have suffered my entire 58 years from living a partially unsatisfying life in a place I literally hate! This is due to my own decisions through staying for my parents and my children. My children are now out of the house and I would love to find my life. I would love to know your story in as much detail as possible. I see how you came to the decision I would just like to know as much step by step how you accomplished it. My husband and I have 30 years each in restaurant and hospitality experience, therefore, understanding that. Thank you for sharing your story.
Several years back, long after a terrible divorce, financial and personal struggles, the meter had run out for me. Life wasn’t working and I had to something. I could stay in Michigan and hope things would change or cut the ties and head out to discover my own life. For reasons unknown a certain area on the map called to me. I’d never been there, didn’t know anyone and had no employment lined up. I got in my little car, pushed in a Bonnie Raitt tape and sang all the way out (2,000 miles). It hasn’t all been wine and roses but it was exactly what I needed to jump start my Life again! Once in a while, drastic change is just what’s called for! This isn’t rocket science! Listen to your heart and adjust accordingly. Good Luck!

Glynda, we’ve been so busy getting ready to open our Live What You Love online store that we didn’t make the time to respond to your thoughtful note until now. Please accept our apologies! You asked how we’ve managed to live a life we love and the answer is that we’ve always honestly and truly followed our 5 D.R.E.A.M. steps. Everyone at one time or another has some part of their life that they’d like to change or imporove and these 5 steps really work! They’re not philisophical and theoretical. They’re clear and practical and have been proven time and time again. We’re about to add some new helpful information to our website so please check back again in a week or so. Please keep in touch!
